AAA/Driver
Improvement Program FAQs:
- Q:
Do I have to provide my own vehicle?
- No,
the AAA/DIP course is classroom-based only. No vehicles are used during
this course.
- Q:
Will the AAA/DIP class get me a discount on my auto insurance?
- A:
Maybe. Every insurance company is responsible for determining what they
do and don't give discounts for. Call your insurance company to find out
if they give a discount for a driver improvement course. If they do, you
will need to submit to them a copy of the completion card you will get at
the end of the course.
- Q:
I'm 26 years old and active duty, but I don't drive and I don't have a driver's
license. Do I still
need to take the AAA/DIP course?
- A:
Yes. All active duty 26 years old or under need to take the course regardless
of their driver's license
status.
Motorcycle
FAQs:
- Q:
Do I have to provide my own motorcycle?
- A:
For the Skills Practice course and the Experienced Rider Course, student
must provide their own
motorcycles. Although it is not required to have your own motorcycle (borrowed)
to take the Basic Rider Course, it is highly recommended.
- Q: How long is my BRC Card good for?
- A: If you ride anyhing other than a Sport Bike, your BRC
Card is good for Three years. If you ride a Sport Bike, you have sixty (60)
days from the time you complete the BRC course to sign up for the Military
Sport Bike Rider Course. (MSRC).
- Q: When do I attend the ERC?
- A: Anytime within three years of completing
the BRC. Usually after a year.
- Q: Do I need to attend the BRC if
I already have my motorcycle license?
- A: No. If you have been riding for a while on either a
Sport Bike or other type of bike, you can attend the ERC, get your card
and then get your base decal.
- Q: Do
I have to have a motorcycle license or a motorcycle permit to use a loaner
motorcycle?
- A:
No. Using one of our loaner motorcycles on our range does not require you
to already have a
motorcycle permit or a motorcycle endorsement on your driver's license
- Q: My
motorcycle has a broken turn signal. Can I still use it for the class?
- A:
No. Anyone riding their own (or borrowed) motorcycle on base is required
to comply with all State and
base vehicle code and other equipment regulations, including: working lights,
good brakes, good tires,no leaks, etc.
Off-Road
FAQs:
- Q:
Do I have to provide my own vehicle?
- A:
Yes. Neither the ATV or Dirt Bike courses provide vehicles for student use.
Students must arrange to
transport their vehicles to the course location.
